We call ourselves modern portrait photojournalist. This means that we consider our photography modern, or contemporary, and that we shoot both portraits and candids. These descriptions will help you understand what we’re talking about.
Modern – playful, artistic, edgy, vintage
Portrait – editorial, natural, creative, classic
Photojournalism – candid, real, moments, raw emotion
We have been described by our previous clients as being a little silly, very warm and ultra friendly. Our goal is not only to provide you with amazing photographs, but also to provide you with a great experience. In order to do so, we want you to have fun, feel comfortable, and always know that we’re here for you. We do this by always keeping smiles on our faces, being positive no matter what and making you laugh as often as possible! When it comes to the photographs, our aim is to make them creative and unique, all while capturing the essence of your day… just the way it was. We will climb trees, lay on dirt roads, crawl under tables… pretty much do anything to get the perfect shot! During the editing process, we become the ultimate perfectionists, making sure each photo is flawless before it is in your hands!
Since we run a boutique-style photography business, and control the number of weddings we take on each year, we're able to minimize the turnaround time for the completed wedding photos and slideshow! Ideally, we like our clients to have their wedding photos in hand within 2 to 3 weeks. We've even had couples pick up their photos on their way home from the airport upon their honeymoon return! Engagement photos are normally ready for pick-up within 7 days.
We base our pricing on the amount of work we put into each wedding and, regardless of the time of year or the day of the week you are married, we work just as hard and just as long on every wedding we photograph. For this reason, we charge the same amount for weddings shot off season, high season, weekends, weekdays and even weddings held on public holidays.
We would have to be 10 feet under not to make it to your wedding! With that said, if something did happen and one of us were physically unable to be there (this has never happened before), we have fully trained, talented, and experienced photographers, that have been training with us for the past 5 years, ready to step in at the last moment.
You need 2 photographers for too many reasons… and don’t allow anyone to convince you otherwise! We feel that the benefit of two photographers is a non-arguable issue! There should be no compromising when it comes to this decision as there is no way that one photographer can capture it all. Here are just three of the reasons why:
We capture shots from two angles and two types of lenses, which lends to a wider variety of creative photos and candid moments.
If one of us misses an important shot, chances are, the other one got it!
For the formal photographs (the few that are actually posed), one photographer takes the shots while the other directs, fixes-up and perfects the poses of the subjects.
We put the same heart, devotion and passion in to all the weddings we photograph. We work just as hard, exercise the same skill level, and use the same equipment at each and every wedding. With that said, there are many things (aside from what we can control) which will make one wedding different than the next. Some of these factors include: lighting, backdrop, venues, details, comfort in front of the camera, photogenics, and time allotment. To ensure you photos are the best they can be, we work with you to choose the right photo locations, have the ability to work around any lighting situation, will help you get as comfortable as possible in front of the lens (this is where the engagement shoot comes in!), will photograph you in the most flattering way possible and can assist you in planning the timing out for your day. What is most important is that your wedding photos reflect your day, just the way it was, in the most beautiful and honest way possible.
We thoroughly enjoy photographing ethnic weddings! We’ve been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to photograph weddings of the following ethnicities: Indian, Arab, Pakistani, Assyrian, Jewish, Nigerian, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Portuguese, Greek, Polish, and others. Our passion to capture ethnic traditions lead us to India in 2011, where we photographed several Indian weddings!
After hearing so many unacceptable horror stories of damaged photos, lost or corrupted memory cards, we became obsessed with fool-proofing the “safety” part of our business. We have a minimum of 2 photographers shooting at the same time, each with their own set of memory cards, so that the whole wedding isn’t stored on one alone. Once a card is full, it immediately gets uploaded on our hyperdrive (portable hard drive attached to our belts). The already fully backed up memory cards are stored in separate safe locations. During the entire day, your most precious memories are on a portable hard drive attached to your photographers, and on the safely stored memory cards. Back at the office, your photos are uploaded on our computers and backed up yet again for our peace of mind and your trust.
We are very consistent with all of our images. We work very diligently to ensure that our clients are happy with all of their photos, not just the top 100 of the day! In our initial consultation appointments, we show you over 800 photos of one (or two) weddings so that you have a very realistic idea of what an entire wedding day photo album will look like.
Definitely! Once you receive all of your photos on DVD, they become your property and you are most welcome to print anywhere you like. With that said, we strongly urge our clients to be very careful with their printers of choice and we suggest that you use professional printing services.
We only provide photography services but we can recommend fabulous cinematographers in the industry, upon request. We want to be the master of our specialty and believe that if we concentrate on one service alone, we can be the very best at it. Some companies offer it all: photo+video+dj+planning+flowers and so on… but we just don’t think you will get the best of each with companies such as these.
We take a photojournalistic approach (candid photographs) to our photography; however, most clients generally want some photographs that require posing in their final package. Typically the posed photographs take place between the ceremony and reception and include family photos, bridal party photos and portraits of the bride and groom. If you are looking for a package that is purely candid with no posed photos, we would be happy to accommodate your request! At the end of the day, we are here to make you happy and to provide you with exactly what you want on your wedding day! Keep in mind that we include an engagement shoot that is there to help you learn how to pose naturally and feel comfortable in front of the camera.
We recommend that you book your wedding as you’ve picked the date. To ensure excellent service, we book only a selected number of weddings per year, therefore we book up pretty quickly! There is no deadline for booking, but the longer you wait, the less chance that we will have your date available.
This means that your photos come to you ready for you to send them to the printer of your choice. We’ve corrected each and every one for colour, brightness, contrast, sharpening, red-eye, and more! They are all in high resolution and they are not watermarked.
Since you’ll be printing your photos on your own, we figure that it’s nice to see how all photos look in the 3 different formats. You get to see the photos, side by side, and easily decide whether they look better in colour, custom b&w or custom modern vintage!
This package offers everything you will need for your wedding day and allows you to print on your own and save a lot of money on the astronomical printing rates that photographers charge. For those who want anything additional, we do offer a wide selection of services in our a la carte menu! Please also note that we offer custom packages upon request.
Many photographers will give you hundreds of unedited, proof-like photos on a cd or online, and leave you with the tedious task of sorting through them and coming up with the ones you’d like to print. Most photos are multiples of the same frame and many of them are either unflattering or unprofessional in one way or another.
FACE Photography eliminates the entire “proofing” stage and makes your life a lot easier. We select the top 800+ photos (which is an overwhelming number in itself), we edit each and every photo so that they are all ready to be printed! Letting us do the work means that you get the final package back faster!
12 hours will cover your entire day from hair & nails to the cutting of the cake! It’s a long day but a special day so we want to make sure we document every part of it! We go anywhere you want us to go; to the grooms place, the bride’s place, the ceremony, the formal photo location(s), and finally the reception! The locations are unlimited!
Weddingwire! We recommend that all couples looking for a photographer start their search by checking out reviews on reliable website such as weddingwire.com. If even one person has had a bad experience with a photographer… that’s a major red flag. We are proud of our reviews and suggest you check them out!
